Fall out of bed and you are on the beach. We are a 5 minute beach walk from pine trees and the Hanalei bowl. There is always beach break in front of the house. You can even check the waves from our rooftop lanai.

On Weke Road, just a few houses from the beach access at the Pavilion, is Alohilani. This newly redecorated Hanalei Bay home, with all new furniture, beds, bedding and accessories, also boasts new Ipe hardwood floors throughout the entire home, and three new large Ipe lanais. In contrast to our "Garden Surf Cottage", but located on the same property, is the Rainbow House...a elegant and colorful three bedroom tropical vacation rental, capable of sleeping up to six, with all the amenities you would want or expect. Rainbow House is built in the old style of "board and batten" and on stilts; graced with high ceilings to keep the days cool. You'll find ceiling fans in every room as well. Old fashioned double hung windows are found throughout and will keep the hottest day at bay, as well as offer great views from most rooms. The panorama from the spacious lanai, kitchen, and dining room offers some exquisite views of waterfalls cascading in the distance. The tiled lanai has a bench, hammock, chairs, and a lazy rocking chair where you can spend the day counting waterfalls. The screened back porch has a table and chairs and a delightful view of the garden. The dining and living area boasts a big dining room table with chairs and two comfortable couches. Both areas are great to linger and to lounge. A VCR and DVD player and small inventory of Videos are there to entertain. A radio/CD / MP3 player and a compliment of CD's will set the mood. There is cable TV and internet access. To adjust you to the island pace and way of life, we have eliminated telephones. Most major cell phone carriers work Custom kitchen cabinetry with a counter of blue tile work encloses a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposal, and a vented four burner stove and oven. The kitchen is well supplied with all the essentials necessary to easily cook and eat well at home. Comes with linens and towels. Multicolored bright tinted plastered walls with arches and custom motifs have ceramic wall sconces highlighting Brazilian red cherry floors in every room. Each bedroom is tastefully well appointed with a queen sized bed, closet, curtains, and linens. Two bathrooms are colorfully tiled with contrasting pedestal sinks and showers. One bathroom has a tub which is especially useful for a "soak " after a day of hiking or surfing. Below, on the first floor is the entrance leading into a small foyer with a private entrance leading to a tiled laundry area equipped with a washer and dryer, that is shared with the occupants of Garden Cottage.

Villa Lauloa is the name of our home. Lauloa means "long wave" in Hawaiian and if you have surfed Hanalei Bay you will understand. We are located in the Princeville Resort on the north shore of Kauai. Kauai is a round island so no matter what time of year you visit there will always be waves breaking and offshore somewhere on the island! If you want to surf the big winter swells in Hanalei Bay then prime surf season is October -April, but there is fun smaller surf year round. Our home has a great set up for surf families with groms. There are 5 bedrooms for everyone to spread out. Villa Lauloa is a short drive to Hanalei over the one-lane bridge. Or if you are an expert surfer you can walk to Puu Poa beach from our house and paddle out to the break through the "back channel" below the St. Regis hotel. You will love staying here because it is impeccably furnished, very well stocked, and has a great location for exploring Kauai's stunning north shore. Loaded with amenities including everything you need for the beach. When you are surfed out you can relax at the end of day by listening to our extensive Hawaiian music CD collection and DVD collection of movies filmed in Kaua. The backyard is very private and has a 5-person hot tub. The sleeping arrangements are as follows: downstairs master suite with King bed, downstairs guest bedroom with King bed, downstairs guest bedroom with 2 twin beds, downstairs guest bedroom with twin bed and Queen sleeper sofa, upstairs master suite with King bed. We also have a twin rollaway bed for one extra grom. The kitchen and family room area is huge, well stocked with everything you need and has panoramic views.

At the beach in Haena- walk to Tunnels surf break and access to all North Shore Kauai surf and kite boarding spots. Kite boarding at Kehupi Point (100 steps from house). This house is professionally maintained, spacious and comfortably sleeps eight. We have an additional guest house that can be utilized by your group.
