Home to some of the most iconic waves on the planet. The Oahu North Shore provides a true surf trip experience. It's an easy drive from Honolulu where you fly into and beach rentals in front of your break of choice are plentiful.

There are a bunch of beach rentals at Sunset Beach that allow you to watch the surf from the deck. Sunset is more forgiving than it's neighboring breaks and offers a safe and fun family beach to play.
Sunset Beach is the home to multiple surf contests and offers a ton of different wave conditions to ride. The point starts breaking around 2-3 and the main line up holds to about 15. Be careful for the West peak, that will close you out and roll you!
In the Off-The-Wall class when it comes to photo action, Rocky's is not at all in OTW's class as a hoax. It's a flat curving reef that is about 250 yards wide and it's perhaps the most consistent wave on the North Shore, breaking up to six feet-plus in any winter swell direction. Rocky's somehow satisfies even its most frightening crowds with a range of waves -- from soft walls to clean barrels to crazy shorebreak air sections.
While Rocky Point was Heavy Local Spot Number One in the 1970s, today the only real crazy days happen in contest season, when small days turn into the surfing's most vicious recorded photo sessions. Dozens of photographers and filmers can be found at one time on the rock/sand beach, shooting away at a crowd of over 130 local grom rippers, Brazilians, Australians, mainlanders, Europeans, and just about everyone else.
Rocky's provides several different takeoff points in different conditions. We'll begin from the west side, close to Pupukea:
1. A series of peaks, mainly rights, in north-to-northwest swells, which sometimes end in a closeout, but often hold up for nice walls and tubes.
2. A clearly defined right wall/left peak combination in west-to-northwest swells, with the left sometimes peeling almost across the length of the reef.
3. A good quality walling left peak forming in west swells, outside the middle of the reef which barrels or peels down toward the northern channel. (This is the prime Rocky's wave.)
4. A sharp, wedging left (and sometimes right) pitching off the northern fringe of the reef.
5. A sucky shorebreak reform left farther inside which is super fun for airs and small barrels.
Pipeline is an iconic surf break that you have to paddle out at least once in our life. It's best to wait til it drops to 4-6ft or under, it feel rad being out there, looking at the reef, suddenly having a wave pitch out into the flats a few feet and getting into a bigger barrel than you thought possible on that size wave. On bigger days the crowds get thick and waves dangerous, if too much sit back and watch the show from the shore.
right hand wall. Awesome wave when it's on. Loves a North Swell. One of the best waves on the North Shore. Multiple sections on offer. Hollow sections.

Down the steps from the 40 foot lawn out front are miles and miles of white sand beach and the Pacific Ocean as your playground.
Perfect for three couples, a family (possibly two), or a group of close friends, 'Log Cabins' is a comfortable and peaceful retreat that sleeps up to ten. It’s a fantastic spot for the outdoor enthusiast, or the leisure buff. Your level of activity is up to you.
Living at Log Cabins is simple, yet luxurious. Two bedrooms have queen-size beds; a third bedroom has two twins that can be made into a queen; and another room has a pull-out double couch. The latter is great for sleeping kids or anyone who doesn't require a closed door. All bedrooms have sizeable closets, and there are three full baths.
The kitchen was designed to be functional, open and spacious with a large island and top-of-the-line appliances. Chuns Reef Beach Estate sits on a lot of approximately 10,000 sq ft, with 130 feet of ocean frontage. It is located three miles from Sunset Beach, Waimea Bay and Haleiwa town, on the famous North Shore surf spot and snorkeling beach at Chuns Reef.
We rent the estate as three separate units: Deluxe Ocean Sunset (2 bedroom, sleeps 6, elevated lanai, expansive views), Oceanfront Bamboo Studio (Sleeps 4, shaded oceanfront lanai, steps to the beach) and Detached Garden Cottage (1 bedroom, very private, outdoor garden lounge area).
The home was originally constructed as the Laniakea Train Station in the late 1800s. Because of it's history, it is built much closer to the ocean than current regulations allow - closer than most oceanfront homes on Oahu. It's unique position as a point home on the edge of Chun's Reef Beach means there are neighbors on only one side.
We have raised the home above the winter surf on large cement pillars, added wide wrap around lanais, and recently added a beachfront hot tub for the exclusive use of our guests. The home's location and elevation give it an unparalleled view of the beach, ocean, turtles, and sunset; and allow easy beach access.

• “What a wonderful place to celebrate our 50th anniversary with the family. The Blue Wave House was even more perfect than I could have imagined. I will miss the sounds of the ocean putting me to sleep every night, the gentle breeze, the morning cups of coffee, walks on the beach, the rain showers. Your house is magnificent. We will never forget our time spent here. The Mix family, California
• Thank you so much for opening yur home to our family. We will cherish our memories of our vacation here at the Blue Wave House. We hope this is the first of many here at North Shore. Mahalo. The Buttlemann family
• My son had recently been stationed at the MCBH in Kaneohe and since our family had never been to Hawaii it seemed like the perfect time. The view from the back porch was incredible. I must admit most of our time was spent sitting at that table. We made a lot of memories here in hawaii and will cherish them always. Many thanks from our family to yours. The Taylor and Gilbret families.
• We are here on the North Shore because of my father’s “homecoming.” He was born in Hawaii 90 years ago and has not been back in 75 years. Little did we know we are staying at the famous and prestigious Blue Wave House. Our family is honored to have spent one spectacular week here. We enjoyed the privacy of humiliating ourselves (only amongst ourselves) while boogie boarding in the beautiful surf (a first time for this 65 year old woman). Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. The Takahashi family
• The home is beautiful and what a view! Nothing like other vacation homes we’ve stayed in as this is such a surfers’ paradise, there were people everywhere. The sounds of the ocean can be heard better nowhere else. Very relaxing. Seven Canadians glad to be away from the snow.
• This is such a nice place to stay. We really enjoyed cooking, relaxing at the beach and maybe surfing. We will remember our vacation at the pipeline Blue Wave House. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts we will come back again. Tai Ga, Momoko Ueda, and Tiger Etuko, Japan
• The only entertainment needed was to watch the whales. There is something beyond description when walking to the sounds and sights of the surf just beyond your bedroom door. The Ramos family, North Carolina
• Thank you for the best vacation we have ever had! This home was amazing and provided such a beautiful view of the ocean. We will never forget our stay at the Wave House along with all the amenities so graciously provided. Thanks for sharing. The Clift family, Utah
• We had such an awesome time in this beautiful home. The water is the cleanest and bluest ocean I have seen in my life. This whole experience was surreal. It deeply saddens me to go home tomorrow. I wish I could stay here in paradise forever. The Yi and Wang clan

E Komo Mai! Whether your stay be at the Pipeline Lodge on Meleanas Farm or at our Beachfront Pipeline Solar home, we hope you keep the following in mind. We balance the joy of sharing the North Shore with guests with the need for housing year-round community members by managing our farm and beach front home as one large property. Both myself and a couple members of our small farm team call the 3 acres of Meleanas Farm home and by doing so reduce the impact of homes becoming vacation only rentals. We are learning to work with the aina (the land), the sun, rain, wind, and other living beings that abound in order to be more self sufficient/sustainable, contribute to our local food economy, put some culture back into agriculture, help keep the country country and prevent future development.
The Beachfront Solar Pipeline Bungalo, aka The Beach House, 8 guests max.
